Instagram embraces NFT Marketing
Since the NFT explosion, Instagram has been one of the go-to platforms for social media NFT; for communities and projects that seek to succeed within the different social networks of web 3.0. Until recently, Twitter was the only platform where it was possible to display your NFTs for a fee as Twitter Blue users. Recently Instagram has announced that it will enable the NFT function in its interface, with which all users will be able to show their collection without having to pay an additional fee.
The platform recently announced that it would support NFTs from Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow, since they are the most popular blockchains in NFT transactions. Starting with Ethereum, which has close to 80% of the NFT market through marketplaces such as Opensea.
Instagram’s resolution represents the incursion of this platform into NFT Marketing, and its claim to become a specialized NFT platform with greater importance, even than Twitter.
For the gradual transition of Instagram into a platform specialized in NFT marketing, the company designed a pilot program that will include a small number of well-known NFT collectors and the enabling of wallets like Meta Mask. With these new tweaks to the Instagram interface, users will be able to display ownership of their NFT pieces, tag creators, and keep their portfolios connected.
This meta project, through Instagram, has an ambitious purpose, which is to massify the use of NFTs through their free advertising within their interfaces. Unlike Twitter, where it was only viable to upload and share NFTs through quotas, Instagram will promote their dissemination for free.
Although the integration of NFTs into the Instagram ecosystem is officially intended to “Open that platform to creators and collectors in a democratic way”, the clear objective of this movement is reinforce Instagram as one of the main platforms in the NFT Market, and in this way ensure its transcendence towards the web and the metaverse.
How important will Instagram be in NFTmarketing?
The growth of the market for NFTs is as fast as the ways to market them, their formats and, of course, their economic impact. However, Instagram’s outright openness to NFTs reframes many of the ways NFT marketing strategies have developed thus far.
The updates that we know to receive NFTs on Instagram, will allow the tokens to be displayed in different parts of the social network, from posts, stories or direct messages. And there will be various elements to know the collection to which it belongs, the description of that NFT, as well as additional details about its owner and creator.
Everything seems to indicate that with this new update, Instagram will be at the forefront of the ideal platforms to do NFT marketing
