Apple updated the App Store guidelines and included a section reporting that apps wishing to exchange NFTs<\/a> must use its in-app purchase system.<\/span><\/p>

The Californian company yesterday released a list of modifications and additions to the guidelines that apps wishing to appear in the App Store must meet. And the most striking point is that all transactions made with NFT<\/a> must be processed through the in-app purchase system.<\/span><\/p>

This means that apps that trade with NFT have to pay Apple up to 30% commission.<\/p>

“Apps can allow users to view their own NFTs, as long as ownership of the NFTs<\/a> does not unlock features or functions within the app. Apps may allow users to browse other people’s collections of NFTs, as long as they do not include buttons, links, or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms other than in-app purchases.”<\/span><\/p>

On the one hand, it is not surprising that it is trying to adapt the mechanics of the apps that are part of the App Store, given that this is a strict policy it has enforced for years.<\/p>
